This was my first real song. I wrote it on my first guitar (featured on the recording), a child-sized nylon-string that I covered with star stickers that I later tried to take off and now it is covered in sticker goo. The song came out in one big plop after a very emotional exchange, which has only ever happened with one other song: "Potential"
lyrics
I'm not real even though it still hurts when I bite you
"Ow my love!" is what you say but I know that you like it
And I'm not blind but I'm blind when I blindfold and fight you
"Ow my love!" is what we say when we knock each other down
And the trees gather 'round. Their desire's half as strong as ours.
We hold on, we hold on, we hold on and their leaves turn brown.
I was born and I knew that someday I would find you
"Where's my love?" I would say until I finally did
And I'll rid myself of everything but you once I make up my mind to
But my mind of myself is what I will eventually rid
And the animals gather 'round. They don't ask for half of what we usually demand. We keep on, we keep on, we keep on as if it was our land.
We're not real but I sleep and my love sleeps beside me
We swept the floor clean for to say "I'm consistently yours"
And I'll ask you to renew your love each coming day
Let the past be nothing but the past so help us god let the past go away
And our thoughts gather 'round. Let us suffer half of what we actually deserve. We fall down, we fall down, we fall down into these arms we've found.
