We barely notice thirty years gone under: float out like icebergs into the sea
Nine years of rainfall, a day and a half of crying to find the source of everything but their own doubt
Three decades of I don't, don't know what emotion. Maybe five or six sunrises in that time
Don't try to use your mind, it will only use you like clouds casting shadows on lower clouds

When are we going to see all this experience come out the other side of your head?
I believe we are here to witness and repeat back what life has said

In terms of distance, your lightning and my thunder are seen and heard at the same time
We barely notice our thirst and then our hunger until my darling we're out of time

We barely notice thirty years gone under. With your head below the surface can you still breathe?
Nine years of rainfall, can you blame the earth for trying to satisfy a people with such a yearning?
